Origin and terroir: This cuvée consists of Zweigelt, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes for this red wine come from vineyards around the Göttweiger mountain in the southern Kremstal. The vineyards are mostly on warm gravel soils with a strong loess top. In particular, the influence of the warm Pannonian climate from the east and the microclimate of the Danube valley have a positive influence on the ripening of the grapes.
Vinification: For this wine, the grapes were harvested in early November. On the vine only more highly ripe red wine grapes hung, which were previously selected out. In the cellar, the grape material was rubbed and subjected to a classic mash fermentation. After a few days, the fermented wine could be squeezed. The malolactic fermentation took place in a controlled manner in a steel tank. The young red wine was then completely filled in new 300-l wooden barrels. He was allowed to mature for 16 months in a small wooden barrel and was then filled into the bottle.
