Weingut Eder Wachau

Wachau - Austria

We manage about 13 hectares of vineyards in Mautern. The grapes are processed in two separate wineries, but pursue the same philosophy. The winery in Hundsheim covers a total of 5 hectares, but what Andreas Eder kneads between Raubern, Süssenberg and Silberbichl is an example of what is possible on the right bank of the Danube. Although the typicality of the variety plays an elementary role, it is equally important for it to bring the natural requirements adequately into the bottle, to virtually provide a mirror for the fertile soils and the warm climate. The Pannonian influence is buffered by cool air from the Dunkelsteiner forest, which gives the wines a balancing acidity on the way. And that can sometimes be long!
